Release notes for every version of Catatku, the same ones shown inside the app.

  1. Version 1.8.5

    • New Calendar Widget to see your income and expenses right from your home screen
    • The calendar view now follows your Month Start Date, with a Summary at the top
    • New preference to open the Daily tab straight in calendar view when the app starts
    • Month Start Date can now be set up to the 31st (previously the 28th). Pro users with more than one device: if you pick the 29th to 31st, update the app on all your devices so sync keeps running smoothly
    • WhatsApp Assistant is now called AI Assistant and also works with Telegram, so you can log transactions right from a chat
    • When you pick an account from the Account List filter on Home, the Income and Expense figures now count only transactions in the selected month
    • The Filter page now has a No Account option to show transactions recorded without an account (Tip: clear the Period filter to see your full history)
    • The No Account row on the Net Worth page can now be tapped to see the transactions inside it
    • New Number Settings on the Currency page to choose the number of decimals, the thousands separator format and the currency symbol position
    • Improved tablet layout (including 7-inch tablets) for a neater, better-proportioned and more comfortable experience
    • Improved text consistency in English, Malay and many other languages

  2. Version 1.8.4

    • The Reports page now includes PDF and Excel export to save and share your monthly or yearly financial summaries
    • The Reports page now looks cleaner and more compact, showing the top 8 categories by default with an option to view all
    • Reports PDF and Excel exports now include the book name used, so documents from different books are easy to tell apart
    • Standardised export file names for PDF and Excel to be more organised and easier to find on your device
    • Exporting documents with many attachments is now much faster and more stable, with a download progress indicator
    • On the Savings page, the Saved total now includes amounts that exceed the target
    • Standardised income and expense colours across all pages and charts for a more consistent look in both light and dark mode
    • Catatku is now available in 17 languages

  3. Version 1.8.3

    • New View History option in the Books menu to view all transactions that make up the total balance for that book
    • The Net Worth page now displays a No Wallet section that holds transactions without a wallet, ensuring their values remain fully counted and transparent in your total assets
    • The Net Worth page now automatically separates your total assets based on Currency types, along with updated help info that is easier to understand
    • The currency selection list now appears cleaner and clearer by displaying standard currency codes
    • WhatsApp Assistant now automatically saves receipt photos as attachments on the related transactions in the app

  4. Version 1.8.2

    • New transaction page customizations: Select Category First and Default Transaction Type. If you use Select Account First, pair it with Select Category First to record transactions even faster and comfortably with one hand
    • New Paid and Unpaid breakdown on the Bills summary, complete with counts for bills that are already paid and unpaid
    • For bills with the Match Monthly Target tenor rule, when making a partial payment, the amount now automatically prefills the remaining unpaid balance for that month
    • Bills created without a category will now automatically remember the last category used for that specific bill
    • New Net Worth menu in Settings to view the breakdown of total Assets and Liabilities across all your books
    • WhatsApp Assistant is now more accurate at reading receipt amounts from photos, recognizing short book names, and ensuring category types are always accurate, especially for income and expenses sharing the same name (such as the Other category)

    • Improved app performance for smoother usage and better page transitions
    • Global currency support expanded up to 128 world currencies

    • Daily automatic backups are now available under the Backup & Restore menu. You can restore your data from any of the last 7 days.
    • Unlike real-time Cloud Backup sync, this feature works like a device-specific Data Export for manual restoration when needed
    • Automatic backup also runs on Free Accounts after more than 50 transactions, while the restore feature requires a Premium upgrade
    • A new Recurring Budget option is now available to automatically renew budgets using the same pattern after the period ends
    • Optional End Date for Monthly and Yearly Bills so they do not appear after the selected date
    • New option in account setup to prevent negative balances. Balance corrections and transfers can now only go negative if the negative balance option is enabled

    • The free trial for the WhatsApp Assistant has ended. It is now available with a 14-day trial, support for up to 2 WhatsApp numbers, and 1-month and 12-month plan options
    • Decimal format in PDF/Excel exports now follows your selected currency preference
    • PDF/Excel export columns reordered, income now appears before expense
    • Transaction history order is now more consistent when transactions share the same date and time
    • Input form sizes on tablet view are now more proportional
    • Fixed decimal input for rupiah amounts on the edit transaction page
